Olomouc Club

The Olomouc Capoeira Club was established in 2006 under the leadership of Graduado Indio (Zdeněk Rigo) who was at the same time the leader of the capoeira club in Nový Jičín where he comes from. Under the auspices of professor Paçoca the club decided to become a member of ABADÁ-Capoeira, the world-wide capoeira organization. Aluno Gigante (Pavel Sýkora), guided by Graduado Indio, became the head coach in Olomouc. In 2008 Instrutor Girafa (Ondřej Novák), the current head coach, comes to Olomouc to study at university. At the beginning he helps Aluno Gigante to lead the club but later on he becomes the new leader of the Olomouc club. However, some big changes are made in October 2009. The Olomouc club, along with the whole Czech Capoeira Association (ČAC) and with some other cities in Hungary and Slovakia, decides to follow Professor Paçoca (now Mestre Paçoca) and join the brand new association called Vem Camará Capoeira.
Nowadays the club has more than 100 active members, mainly children who regularly win medals at capoeira competitions (see the achievements below), and is one of the biggest capoeira clubs in the Czech Republic!

What do we have to offer:

  • teaching at a professional level
  • improvement of physical condition
  • regular workshops with Brazilian masters (Mestre Paçoca...)
  • continuous technical improvement (trocas de cordas – graduation ceremonies)
  • participating in the Czech Republic Championship
  • participating in capoeira shows
  • participating in the European Championship
